Sonic Shapes is a playful exploration of sound created by movement of the whole body

If sound was visible, what would it look like?

Take a moment and listen to the sounds you can hear. Can you picture what is happening to make that sound? What is the physicality of that sound?

All sound is created by some kind of movement, as a dancer I want to explore this idea to discover what sound could be made using the body.

This project has been developed through a Creative Summer Residency at Dance City, Newcastle and a Creative UK Winter Residency at The Old School Gallery, Alnmouth

Performances take the form of live site specific investigations of the space, adding contact microphones to its surfaces and discovering what movements are possible, layering sounds to create unique soundscapes.

Performances include Industrial Coast, Sonic Arts Week, Dance Edits, Industrial City Records and Hypha Studios x PLATFORuM
